Research Intern (voluntary)
MECS provides objective country expert reports on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for a wide range of clients. As an intern at MECS, you will make a valuable contribution to our ongoing activities. You will be working on a range of short term and long term research projects.
You will be researching in Arabic and helping to collect data on: the security situation of MENA, migration patterns, NGO and INGO activity, availability and effectiveness of aid, socio-economic developments and the judicial system of the region.
Duration: Flexible, 3 months
Closing Date: Applications are considered on a rolling basis.
Qualifications and Skills: An undergraduate/graduate in a related subject e.g. Law, International Relations, Middle Eastern studies, Criminal Justice, Politics and Policy, etc;
Excellent spoken and written English;
Interest and knowledge of the MENA region;
Fluency in Arabic reading required. Farsi or Kurdish language skills would also be an advantage.
You must have the right to work in the UK
Intern will receive travel and lunch expenses.
